Meet Our Team

Dr. Michael Kariuki is the Founder and Secretary General of HRSK. A distinguished public health professional with extensive experience in harm reduction, substance use policy, and community health programming across Kenya. Dr. Kariuki has been instrumental in establishing HRSK as a leading voice for evidence-based harm reduction in East Africa.

Dr. Edwin Mbugua is the Founder and Chairperson of HRSK. With deep expertise in public health and medicine, Dr. Mbugua provides strategic leadership for the organisation. He chairs the HRSK board and ensures that all programmes remain grounded in evidence-based harm reduction principles.

Dr. Nashon Okanga is a Co-Founder and the Treasurer of HRSK. He oversees the financial management and resource mobilisation of the organisation. Dr. Okanga brings a wealth of clinical experience and a deep commitment to harm reduction as a cornerstone of comprehensive public health strategy in Kenya.

Dr. Nick Mutisya serves as Vice Secretary General of HRSK. He supports the coordination of HRSK's programmes, partnerships, and advocacy activities. Dr. Mutisya is passionate about translating harm reduction evidence into community-level action across Kenya.

Dr. David Mungai is an active member of HRSK's founding team. He contributes to HRSK's capacity building and stakeholder engagement efforts. Dr. Mungai brings clinical and community health expertise that strengthens HRSK's ability to reach and serve communities across Kenya.
